Meet the Baker
Welcome to Crave by Sweet C, where every cookie is baked with a deep love for family, tradition, and sweet memories.
My love of baking was passed down from my grandmother, Loretta Randle, affectionately called Mama Ret. Watching her bake wedding cakes and birthday cakes for family, friends, and complete strangers was a joy, and her cakes became a local staple in our hometown.
My journey in the kitchen was also shaped by my late father, Roosevelt Cunningham.
My dad served his community in Illinois as a dedicated firefighter for more than 30 years before retiring, and one of his greatest joys was cooking hearty meals for his family and the fellow firefighters who called him "Rosie" at the station. Later in life I watched his dream come true when he opened his own barbeque restaurant, The Smoke Shack. He taught me to pour love into every recipe.
I am just as motivated by my mother, Leslie Cunningham, whose dedication and hard work always pushes me to be my best and teaches me I can do anything. Growing up, my mom posted a quote on the bedroom doors of me and my siblings: "Who you are is God's gift to you, but who you become is your gift back to God." It is a reminder I carry every day as Crave grows from a dream into reality.
For 19 years, my passion has been educating elementary school children. My other greatest joy is my family. I have been married to my high school sweetheart, Clifton, for 33 years. Together we have four beautiful children and three wonderful grandchildren who inspire me every day. God has truly blessed us.
I created Crave by Sweet C to honor my family's legacy, give my own gift back to God, and share that blessing with you. We hope you grow to love these treats as much as we do.
